Quality Leaders Deserve, And Earn RESPECT!

Many, if not, most organizations, these days, struggle, because of a dearth of genuine leadership. Because of a number of factors, including lack of attention to making professionally, designed, leadership training, a priority/ focus, difficulty identifying the right people, for that group, etc. many groups, fail to flourish, to their potential, because, the individuals, who are elected, selected, and/ or, ascend to being a leader, aren't ready - for - prime - time! Quality leaders, realize, they, both, deserve, and must, consistently, earn RESPECT. With that in mind, this article will attempt to, briefly, consider, examine, review, and discuss, using the mnemonic approach, what this means and represents, and why it matters.
1. Relevant; responsive/ responsible; realistic: You're not a real leader, unless/ until, your approach, plans, priorities, and focus, are, on relevant concepts, and ideas! Everything, a leader does, must prioritize, being responsive, and responsible, to those he serves, and represents! It does no good, if an idea, is simply, idealistic, without, also, being, pragmatic, because, ideas, and goals, must be based on reality, and be realistic!
2. Empathy; emphasis; enduring: Great leaders realize, they don't have all the answers, and, this, effectively listen, and learn, from every conversation, and experience, and proceed, with genuine empathy! This must guide one's emphasis, and the goal must be, the enduring, best interests, of the group!
3. Service; sustainable; solutions; stronger: The primary purpose, and responsibility, for a quality leader, must be, providing service, which makes the group stronger, etc. It takes being solutions - oriented, considering obstacles, as challenges, instead of problems! It must be a leader's responsibility to introduce, and implement plans, focused on sustainable solutions!
4. Priorities; preparation; planning; phases: Leading must be based on priorities, and a leader's plans, must emphasize, being prepared, and planning, thoroughly! This is often, a step - by - step, approach, and, thus, wise leaders proceed, in phases, and steps!
5. Energy/ energize; excellence: We need leaders, with high personal energy, and, who seek, to energize, stakeholders, to greater commitment, and involvements, via, a well - considered, call to action! One must not settle for good - enough, or some path, of least resistance, but rather, must seek the utmost degree of personal excellence, in everything he does!
6. Character; create; caring: It's essential for these individuals to possess, and exhibit, the highest quality of character, consistently! To create what is needed, one must be caring, concerned, and committed!
7. True/ trust; timely; time - tested: Unless/ until, you tell the truth, how can you earn constituent's trust! They must avoid procrastination, and proceed, with well - concerned, timely actions! They must have knowledge of the past, to take advantage of time- tested truisms, and the idealism, to make a quality difference, for the better!
Quality leaders deserve, and earn RESPECT! Are you up to the task?
